Privacy Policy

Most of our tools process your files entirely on your own device — they never touch our servers at all. For the tools that do require server processing (video, Office conversion, OCR, and a few others), your file is automatically and permanently deleted within 2 hours. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't share your files with anyone.

Tools marked Local run entirely in your browser using your device's own processing power. The file you upload into these tools is never transmitted anywhere — it exists only in your browser's memory for the duration of the operation.

A smaller set of tools require real server-side processing: Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, Repair PDF, HTML to PDF, PDF to Word, PDF to PowerPoint, PDF to Excel, Office to PDF, PDF to PDF/A, OCR PDF, Remove Background, Upscale Image, Compress Video, Convert Video, Video to GIF, and Trim Video. For these:

• Your file is uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
• It's stored temporarily to process the job, and never viewed by any person.
• Both the uploaded file and the resulting output are permanently deleted within 2 hours, automatically, whether or not you download the result.
• We don't use uploaded files to train any model, ours or anyone else's.

If you create an account, we store:

• Your email address
• A securely hashed version of your password (we never store your actual password, and no one at Documateo can see it)
• Your plan (Free, Pro, or Business) and current pass status
• Basic usage metadata (which tools you've used, when), used only for abuse prevention and product improvement

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google — the same information Google shares with any app you grant access to. We never see or store your Google password.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, bank details, or any other payment credential — that information goes directly to Razorpay, governed by Razorpay's own privacy policy. We receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with your resulting pass status and plan tier. Passes are one-time, prepaid purchases — Razorpay never holds ongoing authorization to charge you again.

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. It contains a random session identifier, nothing else — no tracking pixels, no third-party ad cookies, no cross-site tracking of any kind. This cookie is required for the site to function if you're signed in. A cookie banner on first visit also lets you set preferences for analytics and marketing categories — neither is currently used anywhere on Documateo, but the choice is real and stored in your browser, not tied to your account. • We don't sell or rent your data to anyone, ever.
• We don't show ads or let advertisers target you.
• We don't share your files with any third party.
• We don't use your files to train AI models.

You can request a copy of your account data, or request full deletion of your account and all associated data, at any time by contacting us. Deleting your account also immediately deletes any files still pending automatic cleanup.

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for signed-in users, notify you by email.
