Copyright & Content Removal

1. What Documateo is

Documateo is a file-processing service — it converts, edits, and generates documents on request. It isn't a public hosting platform, a search engine, or a place where other people's content is displayed to the public. Files you process through Documateo aren't published, indexed, or made visible to anyone else. Because of that, most copyright concerns that apply to hosting platforms don't apply here in the same way — but we still take copyright seriously, and this page explains how to reach us if you believe your rights have been affected.

2. Your responsibility as a user

As set out in our Terms of Service, you're responsible for having the legal right to process any file you upload — including the right to convert, edit, or generate documents from it. Documateo doesn't review file content before processing it, doesn't acquire any ownership or rights in what you upload, and limits its use of your files strictly to providing the service you asked for (see our Privacy Policy for exactly how long files are retained and when they're deleted).

3. Reporting a copyright concern

If you believe Documateo's service has been used to infringe your copyright — for example, you have credible evidence a specific account is using our document generators to reproduce your copyrighted material without permission — email legal@muqira.com with:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you believe is affected
  • Whatever specific information you have that identifies the activity in question
  • Your contact information
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized

We investigate every report we receive and take appropriate action, which can include suspending or terminating the account involved, consistent with our Acceptable Use policy.

4. Requesting removal of your own data

If you're asking us to delete files or account data associated with your own account, see the account deletion option in /account, or email legal@muqira.com — this is a data-privacy request rather than a copyright complaint, and is handled under our Privacy Policy's data-deletion terms.

5. Counter-notices

If your account was suspended or restricted following a copyright report and you believe this was done in error, email legal@muqira.com with an explanation and any supporting information. We review every counter-notice individually.
