The short version
Documateo uses exactly one cookie. It's required for signed-in accounts to work, and we don't use it — or anything else — for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Cookie consent categories
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept, reject, or customize two categories beyond the essential cookie above:

| Analytics | Off by default. Not currently used anywhere on Documateo — this switch is real and will apply the moment any analytics is added, rather than being retrofitted after the fact. |

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage (key muqira-consent), not a cookie — it isn't sent to our servers and doesn't identify you. You can change it any time via "Cookie preferences" in the site footer.
What we don't use
- No advertising or ad-retargeting cookies
- No third-party analytics cookies that track you across other sites
- Nothing that fires before you've had the chance to decide via the banner above
Browser tools and local storage
The browser-based tools (merge, compress, convert, and most others) process your files using in-memory JavaScript and the Web Crypto API — nothing is written to cookies or local storage, and no file content ever touches a server for these tools. Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Since documateo_session is required to stay signed in, blocking it means you'll be signed out and treated as an anonymous visitor — the free browser tools will still work normally.
