Common questions

Do I need an account to generate a receipt?
Yes, a free account. Free accounts can generate a limited number of documents each week across all document types (the current allowance is on the pricing page). Pro and Business have no weekly cap; each generation uses a credit from your plan instead.
Can I use these for HRA claims?
The rent receipt includes the details HRA claims commonly ask for, but whether an employer or tax authority accepts a document is their decision. You are responsible for entering accurate details for a real payment. See the Document Generator Disclaimer for what these tools are and are not.
Can I make a receipt for a payment that did not happen?
No. These templates are for recording payments that actually took place, and our Acceptable Use policy prohibits using them to misrepresent a transaction. Entering false details on a receipt can have legal consequences for you.
Does Documateo keep the details I enter?
Documateo does not store the content of the document you generate. Only a usage count is recorded, with no receipt details in it. Logos you choose to save on a Pro plan are kept until you delete them or close your account.
Can I generate a full year of rent receipts at once?
Not yet. Each generation produces one receipt for one rent period, so generate one per month.
