1. Which tools this covers

Documateo provides fill-in-the-blank templates for common business and personal documents, including:

  • GST invoices, retail invoices, simple invoices, quotations, purchase orders, delivery challans, credit notes, and debit notes
  • Rent receipts, driver salary slips, and domestic helper salary receipts
  • Planners and templates (weekly planner, budget planner, meeting minutes, and similar), which are not legal documents

This page applies to every document generated through any of these tools.

2. These are templates, not verification

Documateo generates a document that looks like the type you select and fills it with the information you provide. It does not check whether the underlying transaction actually happened, whether the amounts are correct, whether a business or person named on the document actually exists, or whether the document satisfies any particular legal, tax, or regulatory requirement. Generating a document through Documateo is not review, verification, certification, or approval of its contents by Documateo, Muqira, or anyone else.

3. You are responsible for accuracy and lawful use

You are solely responsible for the information you enter, for the accuracy of every generated document, and for using it lawfully. This includes making sure figures, dates, tax details (such as GSTIN, tax rates, and place of supply on a GST invoice), and any other claimed facts are true and correctly represent a real transaction. Creating a document that misrepresents a transaction that didn't happen, misstates an amount, or is intended to deceive another person, a business, a government authority, or a court is a misuse of this service — see our Acceptable Use Policy, which prohibits fraudulent document generation.

4. No guarantee of legal or tax validity

A document having the right fields — for example a GST invoice showing a GSTIN, tax rate, and tax amount — does not by itself make it legally valid, tax-compliant, or acceptable to any government authority, bank, employer, insurer, or counterparty. Whether a given document satisfies the rules that apply to your specific situation depends on facts and law we have no way to check, and can change over time or by jurisdiction. We don't claim any generated document is "government-approved," "GST-compliant," "legally guaranteed," or similarly certified, and you shouldn't rely on one as if it were.

5. Confirm with a professional where it matters

For anything with real financial, tax, employment, or legal consequences — filing taxes, claiming reimbursement, payroll compliance, a legal dispute, or similar — verify the document with an accountant, tax advisor, lawyer, or other qualified professional before relying on it. Documateo does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice.

6. How your data is used

Information you type into a document template and the generated PDF are handled the same way as any other server-side processing on Documateo — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what's stored and for how long. Saved logos are the one exception kept until you delete them or close your account, as that policy explains.
