Merge PDF — frequently asked questions
- Is there a limit to how many PDFs I can merge?
- No fixed limit — merging runs in your browser using your device's own memory, so the practical ceiling is your device's RAM, not a quota Documateo imposes.
- Will the page order in each original file be preserved?
- Yes. Each source PDF keeps its internal page order; you're only choosing the order the files themselves are stitched together in.
- Does merging reduce PDF quality?
- No — pages are copied at their original resolution and encoding. Merge doesn't recompress or rasterize anything.
- Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
- Not directly — unlock it first with the Unlock PDF tool (which needs the correct password), then merge the unlocked file.
