Annotate PDF — frequently asked questions
- Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
- No. Everything happens in your browser tab, so your document never leaves your device.
- Can I edit or remove my marks after saving?
- Not in the saved file. Marks are drawn into the page so they appear in every viewer and when printed. Keep your original PDF, and annotate it again if you need a different version.
- Will the highlighter hide the text underneath?
- No. Highlights are blended with the page like a real highlighter, so the text stays readable under the colour.
- Can I draw with my finger or a stylus?
- Yes. Pen, box, oval, arrow and highlight all work by touch and with a stylus. Switch to Select when you want to scroll the page without drawing.
- How do I add a typed note?
- Choose Text, type your note in the box, then click the page where it should start. You can move it afterwards with Select. Notes support plain letters, numbers and common accented letters.
- How is this different from Add Text or Sign PDF?
- Add Text places typed text only. Sign PDF places your signature and the date. Annotate PDF is for marking up a document: highlights, freehand drawing, shapes, arrows and notes.
