GIF to Images — frequently asked questions
- Will the frames look right?
- Yes — each frame is rebuilt as it actually appeared on screen. Many GIFs only redraw part of the picture each frame, and we apply the GIF's own rules for clearing between frames.
- Can I keep fewer frames?
- Yes — choose 'one frame in every' 2, 3 or more to thin out a long animation.
- Can I make the images smaller?
- Yes — use the Size slider to scale every frame down.
- What about transparency?
- PNG and WebP keep it. For JPG, transparent areas are filled with the colour you choose.
