GIF Maker — frequently asked questions

Will pictures of different shapes be stretched?
No — by default each picture fits inside the GIF with bars of your background colour. You can choose 'Fill & crop' or, if you really want it, 'Stretch'.
How do I make the file smaller?
Choose a smaller width, fewer colours, or fewer frames. The result screen tells you the size.
Can I make it loop once, or a few times?
Yes — Repeat can be Forever, Once or 3 times.
What does 'Play forwards, then backwards' do?
It plays your frames in order and then back through the middle ones, for a smooth back-and-forth loop.
Does it support transparency?
Not in this tool — transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose.
