How is this different from the regular Crop Image tool?

Crop Image lets you drag a freeform crop box anywhere. Aspect Ratio Crop picks a standard ratio for you (1:1, 16:9, 9:16, and more) and centers the crop automatically — faster when you just need a specific ratio for social media or a template, not a custom framing.

Can I adjust the crop position, or is it always centered?

This tool always centers the crop on the image. For control over exactly which part of the image gets kept, use Crop Image instead.
